What to see and do in Porto beyond the usual: neighborhoods, cafes, restaurants, shops, and new spaces worth discovering.
Porto is one of those cities always worth revisiting. Even when you think you know its streets, new cafes, restaurants, shops, and small spaces emerge that change the way you explore it.
Because what to do in Porto doesn't always mean returning to the usual spots. One of the best ways to get to know the city is to walk through its neighborhoods, observe what's happening around you, and allow space to discover new projects. Baixa, Vitória, Cedofeita, and Ribeira all show different sides of Porto and hide many of those small addresses that make a route surprising all over again.
On our last visit, we revisited some of our favorite neighborhoods and found new recommendations that are now part of Le Periplo's Porto itinerary. Here we gather five of these new places: from a cafe and chocolate shop in Baixa to design spaces in Vitória and, especially, in Cedofeita, one of the neighborhoods that has grown the most within our itinerary. Its mix of galleries, design, independent shops, cafes, and restaurants makes it one of those neighborhoods worth passing through again.
These five places are part of a broader update to the guide, with new recommendations to continue discovering Porto beyond the tourist traps, through its cafes, restaurants, independent shops, and small local projects.

Baixa: a new stop for coffee and chocolate
GLAD
GLAD is a coffee shop and chocolate store located on Rua de Rodrigues Sampaio, in Baixa, very close to Avenida dos Aliados.
The establishment occupies a spacious and bright area, with a contemporary and minimalist aesthetic, where chocolate plays a leading role alongside coffee and a small selection of bakery items.
It's a pleasant place to take a break while exploring Baixa, sit quietly and enjoy a good coffee or try some of their chocolate offerings. It also features a small selection of handmade clothing and objects that align with the brand's aesthetic.

Vitória: Local Design and Makers
Between Ribeira to the south and Baixa to the north, Vitória is one of the neighborhoods that best invites you to explore Porto on foot.
Streets like Rua das Taipas and Rua de Belomonte descend between colorful facades, small shops, restaurants, and spaces linked to the city's creative scene.
B28 Apartment Store
B28 Apartment Store is a concept store located on Rua de Belomonte, next to the entrance of B28 apartments, which brings together pieces by artists, designers, and artisans linked to Porto.
Ceramics, textiles, jewelry, decorative objects, and small design pieces make up a selection far from conventional souvenirs.
The space is spacious and also has an area at the back where workshops are organized. A good stop to discover the work of creators living in Porto and take home a piece connected to the current city.

Cedofeita: cafés, gastronomy, and design to explore at your leisure
Amid galleries, independent shops, cafes, and restaurants, Cedofeita offers one of Porto's most creative and local sides.
On our last visit, we once again explored some of its streets and found several places worth adding to your itinerary.
Not all the places featured in our guides are new discoveries. Some remain because, every time we return to a city, we still want to go back to them.
Genuino is one of those places.

Genuino is one of those restaurants in Cedofeita that deserves to remain part of your Porto itinerary.
A refined and unpretentious space where food and wine take center stage, with a menu designed for sharing, full of creativity and flavor, and a good selection of wines.

Early Cedofeita
Early Cedofeita is a peaceful cafe and restaurant located on Rua dos Bragas, perfect for breakfast but especially interesting for lunch.
Its menu blends Mediterranean and Asian influences, with dishes designed for sharing, specialty coffee, natural wines, and an open kitchen that is part of the space itself.
The place is open-plan, cozy, and works equally well for starting the day calmly or for sitting down to eat. It's one of those places you always want to return to and that invites you to stay a little longer, especially if you plan to continue exploring Cedofeita afterwards.

Kuji Coffee
Kuji Coffee is a small specialty coffee shop in Cedofeita where coffee and matcha are the main attractions.
The space, with its Nordic aesthetic and tranquil atmosphere, boasts a well-curated library and simple decor that blends seamlessly with the creative character of the neighborhood.
The coffee is exceptionally well-prepared, and the matcha is worth a stop on its own. A small and charming spot, perfect for taking a break while exploring Cedofeita and enjoying the neighborhood at a different pace.
